Daily Drawing 65: Me…Preparing For Spring Cleaning
I don’t know what it is about the Fall and Winter season, but our house gets absolutely cluttered with junk (particularly empty cardboard boxes). It doesn’t help that we have a bathroom demo happening right now that we are doing ourselves so clearing all of the whole flooring and fixtures can be a challenge.
I have been slowly tackling some projects around the house while my wife is in her busy work trip season. I do my best to remember things that she mentions as pain points around our house.
Now I’m not particularly handy, but I am a very efficient cleaner and house maintenance guy. So now that Michigan is slowly starting to thaw, and the sun is out longer, I am feeling the energy and motivation to spring clean.
Over the past week I have been focusing on clearing a part of our basement that has been a dumping ground for empty boxes and random miscellaneous items. It is a spot that has been tackled in the past, but very quickly gets cluttered because of a lack of organization. To me it’s a fun challenge to try and come up with a solution that makes the space more functional. I am halfway through that task I think and am hoping to get further along this week.
Before tackling that beast of a project I decided to warm up by tackling a very unwieldy junk drawer that was really annoying my wife every time she opened it. I had bought some dividers that were perfect for a large drawer like this one, and I managed to clean it up nicely…
I wish I had taken a picture of the before to show just how crazy this thing was, but the end result is still very satisfying.
So tonight as I sat down to unwind and complete my daily drawing, I thought about the busy beavers as they start clearing trees and brush and making their functional spaces and saw this very determined guy in my mind and had to draw him.
What projects are you tackling for Spring?
